Terroir

Decomposed granitic schist. Grape variety : 100 % Gamay

Winemaking & Maturing

Vinification includes semi-carbonic maceration. It is carried out under immediate and permanent temperature control and can vary from 7 to 15 days. Maturing is traditional in stainless steel or concrete vats for around 6 to 8 months.

Tasting

A complex, mineral nose with cherry kernel and blackcurrant aromas. Great attack and a long-lasting finish.

Culinary Suggestions

Beef stew, red meat, poultry, game, local terrine and charcuterie, cow's milk cheeses. Morgon makes a marvellous partner to simple, regional cuisine.

Serving temperature

Serve at between 16 and 18° C Enjoy within 5/6 years. If you get a have got few bottles of Morgon in your cellar, you will be very pleasantly surprised by the capacity for ageing of this appellation.
